About myself
I hold a master’s degree in Biological Sciences (curriculum: Environmental Biology) from the University of Naples Federico II, obtained in October 2023. In 2024, I enrolled in a Second-Level University Master’s in GIScience and Remote Sensing for the Integrated Management of Land and Natural Resources at the University of Padova, where I deepened my expertise in spatial ecology and biodiversity analysis. Concurrently, I won a research scholarship at the University of Naples, which allowed me to apply my skills in wildlife population management. During this time, I developed expertise both in the field and in the laboratory, conducting research that ranged from predictive models to molecular approaches, tools that enabled me to study population structures and gain a better understanding of adaptation and resilience processes.

About the PhD
I am now focusing on mammal species. My project “From Distribution to Function to Service: Mammal Futures in a Changing World” is a part of a wider initiative under the IPBES mandate: BES-SIM (Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Scenario-based Inter-Model Comparison), a global initiative that aims to improve our understanding of how climate change and human activities impact nature and the benefits it provides to people. My contribution in the project is to model future mammal distribution applying the InSiGHTS modelling framework to scenarios of change in land use based on the Narratives of the Nature future framework (NFF), and in mapping the Nature’s Contributions to People (NCP) that mammals provide. These results will contribute directly to the BES-SIM inter-model comparison, providing a mammal-centred perspective to global biodiversity and ecosystem service assessments and will contribute to understanding how different narratives and relationships with nature could shape the future of mammals
