About myself

I am a conservation biologist with a PhD in Animal Biology. As a post-doc researcher, I joined the Global Mammal Assessment Lab in December 2024, where my work bridges biodiversity research, conservation, and project management and support.

My research has focused on the behavior and ecology of primates in their natural habitats, including studies on western lowland gorillas in the Central African Republic and capuchin monkeys in Brazil. I also have extensive experience in biodiversity outreach activities and
community-based conservation, promoting local engagement in environmental protection.

With almost 20 years of experience in animal behavior and international conservation projects across Italy, Africa, and Brazil, I have collaborated with leading institutions like ISTC – CNR of Italy, São Paulo University in Brazil, as well no profit organizations like WWF and the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. My expertise includes primatology, biodiversity outreach and consultancy in project design and management, as well as research coordination. Since 2019 I am an Environmental Expert for the European LIFE Programme, focusing on Nature, Governance, and NGO projects in Italy, Malta and Slovenia.
