About myself and my PhD
I obtained a Master’s degree in Ecobiology from Sapienza University of Rome in 2022, with a thesis focusing mammal’s extinction risk, during which I developed skills in statistical modelling, GIS, and the application of IUCN Red List criteria.
I am currently completing my PhD under the supervision of Prof. Carlo Rondinini. My research focuses on three interconnected themes: the analysis of drivers of extinction risk dynamics across mammals, the global trends in change in extinction risk of mammals through backcasting, and future habitat availability for European mammals under alternative land use scenarios.
As part of the NaturaConnect Horizon Europe project, I also contributed to the development of Nature Futures Framework (NFF) narratives for Europe, which were published in Environmental Management (D’Alessio, Fornarini et al., 2025).
